Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN)
Duties and Responsibilities:
One of the most highly respected careers in health care is the
Licensed Practical Nurse. This profession appeals to individuals who like a
fast-paced job with a variety of responsibilities. Being a positive presence in
the lives of sick and injured patients is a rewarding experience.
There is a wide range of services provided by an LPN. There are
many choices for employment including hospitals, nursing homes, medical
offices, and home health care. Sometimes families will hire an LPN to be a
private nurse for a family member. Many health insurance companies are hiring
LPNs to answer patients’ questions concerning health needs. The exact nature of
the duties depends on the environment of the specific job although there are
commonalities in all positions.
Education:
A Licensed Practical Nurse, or LPN,
is an integral part of the health care industry. People who are at least 18
years old, drugs-free, have a high school diploma and a clean criminal record
meet the basic requirements for entering a training program for a career as an
LPN. After successfully completing the training, you can get an LPN license and
find employment at nursing homes, hospitals and doctor’s offices. Because the
required training time is relatively short and the opportunities for employment
are plentiful, an increasing number of people are considering a career as an
LPN.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
I wouldn’t like to be a licensed Practical Nurse because I’ve
never wanted to be a nurse and I feel like I just wouldn’t like to be on ever.
