Ophthalmologists
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists are medically trained doctors with specialist skills in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the eye and visual system. They treat patients of all ages, from babies to the elderly. Most aim to become consultants, where the role combines the technical skills of a micro surgeon with the therapeutic and diagnostic skills of a doctor.
Salary:
$90,000 - $150,000
Education:
Ophthalmologists' need extensive training after high school: four years of college, four years of medical school, one year of internship, and three years of training as hospital residents in ophthalmology.
Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to be an ophthalmologists because I have something else in mind to do when I grow up.
