What i saw in this video was integrity. Abraham Lincoln made a promise to his mom to never smoke and he kept it he would never break that promise. His mom was ill when she died and told the promise to Abraham.Colonel understood Abraham's promise and apologized. he felt sympathy for him.  Abraham Lincoln denied everything and decided too choose the right.
